'The Broken Body' exposes the corporeal experiences of Nicaraguan refugees living in Costa Rica since the violence that broke out across Nicaragua after the marches of April 2018.

None of the faces of the interviewee are revealed on the screen; their testimonies are captured through the gestural expressive force of body language. Filmed in July 2019, this Costa Rican-UK production gives voice to the needs of bodies that face the danger, fear, and hardships of force migration.

Me and My Thoughts.jpg

What we do inside our house when we are alone is kept to ourselves, like most of our inner thoughts.

We are all striving to look normal, to fit in. What happens inside the mind of an obsessive/depressive/paranoiac person who is struggling to look normal, to be in control?

This fictional short film portrays a modern woman who masks her mental health problems, yet outwardly she appears unexceptionally normal.
